Don Lam
Chief Executive Officer and co-founder, VinaCapital Group

Don Lam is a founding partner of VinaCapital Group, with over 15 years experience in Vietnam. He has overseen the Group’s growth from manager of a single USD10 million fund in 2003 into a full-featured investment firm managing numerous listed and unlisted funds, and offering a complete range of corporate finance and real estate advisory services. Before founding VinaCapital, Don was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers (Vietnam), where he led the Corporate Finance and Management Consulting practices throughout the Indochina region. Don has also held management positions at Deutsche Bank and Coopers & Lybrand in Vietnam and Canada. He has a degree in Commerce and Political Science from the University of Toronto, and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Canada. He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Securities License in Vietnam.


Andy Ho
Managing Director and Head of Investment

Andy Ho is Managing Director and Head of Investment of VinaCapital Investment Management Ltd, where he oversees the capital market, private equity, fixed income and venture capital investment teams. Previously, Andy was Director of Investment at Prudential Vietnam's fund management company, where he managed the capital market portfolio and Prudential's bank investment strategy. He has also held management positions at Dell Ventures (the investment group of Dell Computer Corporation) and Ernst & Young. Andy is a leading authority on capital market investment, privatisations, and private equity deals and structures in Vietnam, where he has led private placement deals totaling over USD200 million. He holds an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is a Certified Public Accountant in the United States.


Phuc Than
Managing Director

Phuc is one of Vietnam’s most experienced technology executives, having worked at Intel for 23 years, including leading Intel Vietnam since 1999. Phuc started with Intel in 1986 as a Market Development Engineer and over the next 13 years assumed several technical and marketing positions at Intel headquarters in Santa Clara, California, USA. In December 1999, Phuc moved to Vietnam as Country Manager for Intel Vietnam, where he led the development of Intel’s business to become one of the fastest growing countries for Intel worldwide. In 2002, he added Cambodia and Laos to his area of responsibility. Phuc has worked with the Vietnamese IT industry and government authorities on several initiatives to increase the adoption of information and communication technologies in the business, consumer, government and education sectors. He also played a key role in Intel’s USD1 billion investment to build a chip testing facility in Ho Chi Minh City – Vietnam’s first direct investment by a leading technology company. The Vietnamese press has named Phuc one of the 10 most influential people in Vietnam in the 1999-2009 decade.  Phuc graduated from the University of California at Davis with a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences.


Elizabeth (Beezer) Clarkson
Draper Fisher Jurvetson Director

Elizabeth (Beezer) Clarkson is a Director at Draper Fisher Jurvetson, where she manages the DFJ Global Network of Partner Funds and focuses on its global expansion into new geographic and sector markets. Prior to DFJ, Beezer was an Investment Manager at Omidyar Network, a $400M fund by Pierre Omidyar, the founder of eBay. There she invested in information technology and financial services, as well as made fund investments on a world-wide basis with a focus on emerging markets. Before Omidyar Network, Beezer was a Business Manager for Hewlett-Packard's Consumer PC Global Business Division. At HP, she was responsible for executing large-scale, strategic alliances and distribution partnerships with marquis internet services companies for placement on HP desktop and notebooks globally, delivering multi-million dollar gross margins annually. Before Hewlett-Packard, Beezer was with LC39, a $40M early stage VC fund based in New York City, Towers Perrin and Morgan Stanley. Beezer earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Government at Wesleyan University, where she was awarded an International Relations Certificate, and has an MBA from Harvard Business School.
